Harness the power of tools
At DevriX, we use a lot of tools and we always try to automate as much as possible so that there are fewer things to think about every day. Everything you do more than two or three times a day and make it suitable for some kind of automation, so scripting or standardization should be automated.
You can use GitHub for version control and Travis for continuous integration. Stream all tasks, commits and projects into Slack or HipChat. We have all missions in Asana. Then, we can get job estimates, which we turn into reports. We look at the reports to see who is on time, who is slow and why.
If someone is slow, we communicate with them appropriately to understand what's going on. Finally, we use that information to generate an invoice for the customer.
Mario initially thought he could build a level work environment, but quickly realized it wasn't for him. Instead, he chose to work on projects in smaller teams. Latest Mailing Database As a distributed company on three continents, DevriX employees work in different time zones, making it difficult to simplify communications. The fewer people working on the project, the more difficult it is to communicate.
This is why vertical hierarchies are simpler, especially if you also have project managers to help with the organization of the team. Regardless, make sure everyone has direct access to the CEO or key decision makers so they can be reached if they feel silenced or abused by others for any reason.
